The original founder was inspired to introduce Healthcare Assist to the Australian community in 2004, a time when Australia witnessed tremendous changes in the field of private health care, and family health insurance. A regular health insurance user himself he wanted to check what he was getting for the years of paying for extras and hospital cover. He was shocked to find that health funds cover very little compared to the premium paid, giving almost no value for the money invested in private health care and family health insurance. This was particularly obvious in the case of extras, where claimable limits are low and restricted, again reducing the value of health funds for the money invested and the returns they give on private health care and family health insurance.
After extensive research, Healthcare Assist was founded, as it was found that many people wanted health care, but could not afford it. The health funds that people had access to were limited and consumer expectations were high regarding private health care and family health insurance. Over the years, Healthcare Assist has dedicated itself to providing affordable health insurance benefits to all Australians. Healthcare Assist health insurance is underwritten by a major health fund giving you even more peace of mind.
